Vintage Missoni, c.1960s

RIP Ottavio Missoni (February 11 1921 – May 9, 2013)

Ottavio Missoni, co-founder of the Missoni fashion brand known for it’s signature zig-zag patterns, died Thursday at the age of 92 in Italy. He co-founded the Missoni fashion label in 1953 with his wife, Rosita Jelmini. Rosita’s family owned a textile factory; and it was here that the couple developed machinery that allowed them to create their iconic zig-zag knits.
